Will the face lifted Maruti Alto 800 hit bull's eye in the market?

Maruti Suzuki, the most popular and reliable car brand of India has several cars in their warehouse, which boasts large selling numbers in our country. The entry level hatchback segment is the most competitive and best selling segment in the Indian automotive scenario. The company has a range of compact hatchbacks in its house, among which the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 is one of the most popular cars which carries forward the legacy of the original Maruti 800 which was the most popular car in the Indian car history. Now with steeply increasing competition in the car market, the auto maker has decided to introduce an upgraded version of the Alto 800.

This car is surely the most favoured entry level car in the country as well as the best seller from Maruti Suzuki. It comes in two new vibrant colour options namely, Mojito Green and Cerulean Blue. The front profile of the car has also been designed newly with restyled head lights, a new front bumper, restyled front grille and provision for fog lights. The side profile of this car remains mostly unchanged and so is its rear end. The wheels have been given a new design and the bumper is now 35mm longer and gets provision for fog lights. 

Dimensionally, the face lifted edition of Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 comes with 3430 mm of length which is 35mm longer than outgoing version and 1490 mm of width, 1475 mm of height and 2360 mm of wheel base. The cabin has received certain updates as well. It comes with fabric upholstery for seats and door pads, a passenger side Outside Rear View Mirror as standard and additional storage space at the rear end of the car. Full wheel covers, a rear spoiler, front power windows and much needed central locking system are other standard features. Other upgraded features include keyless entry, door trim fabric, rear seat head rest, remote fuel lid and back door opener, passenger side ORVM as standard. The new Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 comes with the same 800cc three cylinder petrol engine which produces 47bhp with 69Nm of peak torque.

The face lifted version of Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 delivers 24.7 kmpl of fuel economy in petrol variant, while on CNG model claims to deliver 33.4 kmpl of fuel efficiency. This new upgraded version of the Alto 800 is priced between 2.45 lakh to 3.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) which is quite affordable, therefore making for a super selling package from the house of Maruti Suzuki.
